Easy Ways to Lose Twenty Pounds
When I used to be a personal trainer at a health club, I’d ask clients to tell me what they wanted to do. Most people answer and say, I want to lose a lot of weight really fast.
I’d respond by showing them how I can help them get that weight off right away as I approached them menacingly with a hacksaw. That always caught them off guard and wondered what I was doing. I was showing them a better way to lose weight than six pack ab exercises.
They would soon learn that the easiest way to drop a lot of weight is to lose a limb. What the clients would realize is that they don’t really want to lose weight that fast: they want to lose a lot of fat instead.
Very rarely have I had a client with a good answer to my question.
That response woud be along these lines: “I’m ready for about a 25 pund drop in my body’s fat content.Also, this loss of fat needs to be permanent and shouldn’t sacrifice my health.
The fat I’m carrying in my hips must be eliminated.Rather than this bulging stomach, I want one that is firm and inline.”
These people would know what body composition they wanted as well as how long they wanted to live. You can usually get more information about body composition at a weight loss forum.
I was always impressed with people like this: they actually thought things through.Besides fat, the pounds you have include your skeleton, and everything inside of you. Tell me, does your weight matter if you were built sollid and firm with no flab at all?
The desired goal then is shedding fat rather than pounds. What I want you to do is to start measuring your body composition, rather than staying on the scale. To measure body fat, get a skinfold caliper and check yourself, or go to the gym and get a trainer to measure your composition.
You’ll understand how you are doing with regard to fat loss with by measuring your body fat than you ever will with a scale.
